Is
the Sphinx Much Older Than The Great Sphinx, sitting close to the Great Pyramid in Giza, Egypt is an enormous structure 240 feet in length and 66 feet high higher than a 6-story building and longer than a city block. It has a man-lion shape and, curiously, stares patiently due east as if waiting for something profound to happen. Often times it had been buried up to its neck in sand throughout its long history. Our experts, the Egyptologists, have told us for a long time that the Sphinx was built some 4500 years ago during the time of Egyptian history called the "Old Kingdom" when Khafre was king. Interestingly, there isn't a single inscription on the Sphinx that links it to King Khafre. Even more astonishing, no contemporary text referring to the Sphinx has ever been found. The claim that Khafre was responsible for the construction of the Sphinx is weak at best. Like the Sphinx itself, the arguments of the experts are beginning to crumble and erode. An astonishing breakthrough occurred in the 1960's when the brilliant mathematician and symbolist, R. A. Schwaller de Lubicz made the following comments in his book "Sacred Science:" "A great civilization must have preceded the vast movements of water that passed over Egypt, which leads us to assume that the Sphinx already existed, sculptured in the rock of the west cliff at Giza that Sphinx whose laconic body, except for the head shows indisputable signs of aquatic erosion." (my emphasis) Schwaller then suggested a way to prove that a civilization, more advanced than the Egypt of 4500 years ago, existed many thousands of years prior to that time. He said "If the single fact of the water erosion of the Sphinx could be confirmed, it would in itself overthrow all accepted chronologies of the history of civilization; it would force a drastic re-evaluation of the assumptions of 'progress' - the assumption upon which the whole of modern education is based. It would be difficult to find a single, simple question with graver implications " In the 1970's, John Anthony West, an independent researcher, realized the implications and importance of Schwaller's insights. That is, if the vertical lines of erosion/weathering patterns on the Sphinx's body resulted from extensive exposure to water (heavy and prolonged periods of rain) and not by wind and sand as the experts had speculated, this would turn the history of mankind on its ears. Why? Because it would mean that an advanced civilization built the Sphinx well before the time our ancestors are known to have been primitive bushmen (hunters-gatherers). The last time Egypt had heavy and prolonged rains (rather than periodic floods) was thousands of years prior to the time current experts say the Sphinx was built. John Anthony West wanted answers. He contacted Professor Robert Schoch of Boston University. Dr. Schoch is a world class geologist, stratigrapher and paleontologist. The two decided to collaborate on this project. Dr. Schoch and Mr. West studied and inspected the Sphinx. Thereafter, Dr. Schoch continued with his work in the laboratory. He then made his findings public: The geological evidence suggests that, at the very least, the earliest the Sphinx could have been built was somewhere between 7000-9000 years ago. His evidence was primarily based upon existing scientific knowledge that heavy rains stopped falling in Egypt at that time and the fact that the vertical erosions line on the Sphinx's body came from water falling in a downward direction for prolonged periods of time. Schoch's conclusions are fully supported by paleontologists. Furthermore, his findings were presented to the Geological Society of America after which several hundred geologists agreed with Schoch's logic and augments and offered practical help and advice to further the investigation. The reaction from Egyptologists, the "experts?" Ridiculous American hallucinations! This discovery, along with others posted in the "Advanced Ancient Civilizations" section, is nothing short of staggering. The implications are enormous and the stakes very high. It would mean that the history of the human race would have to be re-written. There will be incredible resistance to such discoveries. But the truth will not be denied. Furthermore, the most profound question raised by all of this would have to be addressed. What advanced civilization built this structure and where did they come from?
